I'd like to meet the master marketer who popularized turkey for thanksgiving. When literally ANY meat would taste better and cook quicker/easier, we decide to make an already stressful day with difficult family even more stressful by cooking this bird for a day and a half.

turkey tastes better than chicken. fight me!
No! I will join you in defeating the objectively chicken lovers!
*objectively incorrect
turkey is just a tastier form of chicken
Plus, it's bigger! You get like one day of chicken leftovers. But turkey leftovers last at least a week.
in the time it takes to cook a single turkey, i could feed an entire ethiopian village with chickens i processed myself. However, I seem to have been strawmanned into a chicken lover. I don't opt for chicken for thanksgiving...i opt for steaaaaak
Pro tip: cut your bird in half along the breast bone and lay each half cut side down on a half-pan. It cuts the cook time in half and it eliminates the uneven cooking that comes with roasting the bird whole. Your meat will be tender and juicy throughout instead of the breast being dry while the thighs and legs are undercooked.
how dare you.
lol Iβve never really thought about that, but itβs a good point
