Gonna try to test a livestream walk through the redwoods today.

It's just a test to see if it will work.... but assuming it does, I figure I'll hang out at forks in the trail and ask anyone viewing which way I should go.

The trails here are deep and poorly marked, so this could truly get me lost.

Anyone interested?

The internet seems good... at least at the entrance.

What will you use for live streaming?

Shosho zap.stream

Gimme 45 min or so. Will update here

Omw now

gonna burn one in the redwoods?

Nah. Not today. Good idea for next time though.

About to start the trial run... I dont really know how this works... find me on zap.stream if you can.

Im in!

Cool, did it work?

Kinda.

Did you get lost?

No. Stream was choppy. Maybe poor internet, maybe issues with the app.

I like this idea

do it buddy

The stream was choppy and stuttering. I tried to watch from zap stream but couldn't. I'm not sure where the issue is and I don't know what app you are using.

I stream playing games using obs to zap stream and twitch everyday with no issues.

I've never tried to IRL stream. I did once many years back but my mobile internet is slow and I don't have 5g. IRL streaming is tough. Too many problems.

Yeah. It was called a test for a reason. Sorry it didnt work better. My phone said I had 5G signal with a minimum of 3 bars. I was streaming with ShoSho from my Android.

so the issue is mostly likely not your 5g,

to do more troubleshooting you can stream on the zap stream app to see if it gives you the same issue.

or setup wifi in your backyard and stream from both apps to see where the issue is, then you can tell the developer.

also stream from twitch app to see if the issue happens. I don't see anyone ever streaming in IRL so you are the biggest tester.

Well.. I might try again directly from Zap.Stream tomorrow.

I thought your stream was awesome.

Please let me know if you think the choppiness was related to shosho, that's the one thing it is absolutely critical for me to get as good as possible!

If choppiness is in my app I will replace the rtmp streaming library asap, there are alternative libraries I can drop in quite easily.

I can also make quality configurable, e.g. reduce resolution for better performance of low signal.

Thanks for trying it out!

Bro. Your app is super cool. I'm a noob, so I can't say what caused the choppy behavior. I was streaming from within the forest, so I assumed it was the internet bandwidth or whatever... but my phone did say I had a 5G signal the whole time.

I'm going back tomorrow. It was suggested I should try direct from zap.stream ... What do you think? Is there anything I can do different on my end to give nostr:nprofile1qqsgthcq5tm2jxz9x4xg6tvlh26qq2actdpztwh2kc86lvjc03gr36spz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsq2k3d2 a more solid test?

I thought your test was very solid. Any feedback you can give me is great because it helps me make the app better. So, if tomorrow you try zap stream app and find it's less choppy, or like it better for any reason, all I'd say is please let me know so I can improve.

I'll try ShoSho for a bit and then go live direct from zap.stream if there are any reported issues. I'll report if that makes any difference.

I'm not sure I'll have an audience (your promo helped me greatly) ... they're the ones who really know how choppy it is or isn't...

LFG!!!

Just a heads up. I'm heading back there in about 30 min. Gonna try this again. Zap.stream bigfoot hunting.
