it connects to public relays and aggregates events from there and filters it to your contacts and some other stuff. Much cleaner than connecting to those public relays directly, no spam from non-contacts.
Broadcast true let’s yet send out to those relays.
From what Ik it broadcast your events to both paid and unpaid relays they have on file
It's designed to read and broadcast all of your events to multiple relays, providing you with maximum visibility. Additionally, you'll receive a clean Global feed that combines all of the major public relays but filtered without spam

I mean you can do that. You are already broadcasting you are events to these relays with a wine filter.

It’s unfortunate to say the least, but unless a better idea or feature comes along, it’s the best that we’ve got 💜
I think paid relays are a great way, but unfortunately all I need is to be able to create accounts for free and I can spam your notifications with likes. Even worse is I might find a way to get some sats.
Even 1 sat minimum for a like starts to shut down spam.

But I guess, as it stands, they are dealing with whatever’s the biggest problem at hand and just constantly putting fires out.
If that starts being a problem, I’m sure they’ll put it higher on their priority list 💜💜
