Why do I want nip 05?

My understanding is it sort of verifies your account but I only earned of it today.
Why would I want that though? Not trying to be facetious, but just trying to understand the reason that drove it’s creation
I honestly have no idea. That's just what I was told when I asked.
It’s so someone like Jack Dorsey can use their own domain to prove who they are. For example, he used to be verified with cash.app. Though I think he decided he didn’t like NIP 05 for some reason, so he doesn’t anymore.
It also makes it easier to search people.
