My great grandmother sold baked goods during the Great Depression to support the family. She advertised the cakes and cookies as “baked at home in a home-made way.”

I was thinking about selling a steak sauce to earn some extra sats but not sure it would be legal anymore.

It’s tragic how when we have a business idea we have to first worry about the regulatory obstacles.

It’s all cakes and cookies. 🍪 🎂

I'm imagining that enforcement of regulations will become increasingly difficult as time progresses.

Eventually only the essentials will be enforced.

You can do it! Do it informally first through something like Facebook marketplace. I've seen people sell things from their garden/ honey from bees they keep. Etc. No one will stop you!

Go through the legal hoops to find out how complicated it is, then offer a turnkey solution to other small businesses looking to start up.

There is more money in regulation than hot sauce.

Alternatively, HODL Bitcoin.

I started reading Joel Salatin everything I want to do is illegal because I have similar ambitions.

I'm only a few chapters in and he explains the history of this.

What's ashame is our laws are designed for corporations and always squash the entrepreneur start ups.

I say do it! Make a delicious steak sauce and see how far you can push it.

It's a risk tolerance thing at the end of the day.

We're into Bitcoin while some are afraid of challenging the government's currency.

Some are operating start up businesses while others are afraid of challenging the government/corporations gatekeeping.

I know the feeling. We make kombucha and give it to family and friends and have had really good feedback. Sometimes people donate for ingredients but it would be great to sell a few bottles and make a bit of pocket money. Planning on doing a food safety course and writing up aHazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP). Then I need a business number and bank account and a permit from the local council. It's a lot of hoops, but probably seems more daunting than it is.
