Who’s going to answer yes to a “are you a manipulator?” question?

Are you trying to manipulate me into admitting I'm a manipulator?

Are you trying to manipulate me into admitting that I'm manipulating you into admitting you're a manipulator?

😜

Oh I can just ovary up and admit it. I'll manipulate you and I think you'd like it 🫦

Aha! Now we're getting to the truth!

No, I wont like it.

Manipulation has become such a part of debating and arguing these days that one could be forgiven for doing so when they have nothing but good intentions.

We live in a world of lies and disinformation. I have been following and chatting with Comte enough to give him the benefit of the doubt.

And so I just point out what I believe to be a dangerous act. There’s no accusations of ill intent in my meaning.

Depends on the person practicing it. I do think some people who are in the profession of therapy are themselves psychopaths. But there are also people who just want to have a clearer picture of the world and recognize that the primary factor in our experience of the world is the unconscious. Psychology is probably the most important thing anyone can know, especially in fields like economics, education, architecture, and policy making.

I agree. It’s important to understand peoples understanding.

I grow concerned about the usage of this knowledge, tho. It can start out innocent enough, but before you know it one is crafting messages design to invoke an emotional reaction rather than to spread truth.

It feels wiser to just put the truth in the open and let humans be human.
