It’s like saying no one is talking about the Yugo so it might be a better car. Im a Toyota guy, millions of people I don’t care for also recognize the great value of buying a Toyota. As money tends to one, people we don’t like are also going to want to use the best money. Adoption doesn’t mean corruption. The great part is you can commit some of your savings wherever you want and find out in 5yrs whether you made a good or bad choice.

Discussion

this is kinda the point thoough...

instead of an intelligent discussion of tradeoffs the response is "its just garbage"

then Saifedean inspired dogma about money trending to one.

these are maxi axioms.

not proven, not fact.

just beliefs that have been repeated ad infinitum.

Monero is flawed, and Bitcoin is better - no dogma all factual stuff.

Depends what you mean by "better" (at what?)

Definitely not better at private transactions, targeted censorship, or fungibility

different trade-offs doesnt make something better

"better" is a subjective value judgement

i would certainly agree there are things "better" about bitcoin

but all in all,

the design of monero aligns with the vision of the world I want to see

This is a level headed response that makes sense to me. I don't like the blanket statements that offer no real information.

I have a certain sympathy...

nuance is hard.

Especially now aa days.? Most everyone just wants to be "right"
