Homeschooling it is. It's a mixed bag though. We've homeschooled for 10 years and all the kids are doing great. We recently transitioned into a charter school, but we are very pleased with the results.

Our 3rd grader was struggling and falling behind with reading and math. I'm not sure what the mental block was, but we couldn't get passed it with the tools that worked for our other kids.

Within one month of being in school, she was able to overcome both and is getting back on track.

Homeschooling works for most... (We took one all the way to university) But sometimes, there's a need for specialized care.

Wow I really appreciate this candid response. Thank you. My wife recently left the work force and we’re considering all options. Honestly he’s not a very well behaved kid with his mother(he’s not even three so I’m sure he’ll get over it) so homeschooling may not work in our case but I will remain vigilant about what he’s being taught elsewhere.

Oh no worries, that's what makes nostr great.

Lol, and yeah, hear ya. Some days were really rough with behavior. All depends on how you go about it. We spent a lot of time taking classes offered to homeschoolers through colleges and museums.

Honestly, it's an experience like no other. We did astronomy and space at the planetarium and observatory, we did biology at the zoo, we did social studies at archeological sites. American history at civil war reemacents. Our 8th grader was doing mock trials at the county courthouse...

There's so much out there other than worksheets and textbooks, but it was really tough at times.

Tradeoffs in all things.

Well put.

Hats off to your home and educational work! Inspiring 💜

Its looking to be the only way to have an unbroken child

Which is basically the only reason we do anything else, so good luck to us both!
