I noticed an option to split zaps the last time I renoted someone. It let me pick what % I take vs the OP and defaults to 90% for OP. It looks like he is doing the same thing here: 
I believe that’s specific to Amethyst only. Other clients don’t do this but it would be nice if they did.
A boost with no comment / text directs the zaps to the original poster. If you comment boost it directs the zaps to the booster

Eh, giving people the benefit of the doubt when they stand to benefit financially from their “honest mistakes” is a good way to get taken advantage of.
Ok i understand where you are coming from and it's personal cause somebody used your work.
However through exposure, as your name is still attached to it, people might find your npub, follow it and you can still gain more in the end.
It could have been worse. Who knows who just took the image link and shared it through their networks without your name attached to it in any way.
What if his followers don’t follow you? Wouldn’t that gain you new followers?
A simply repost does that.
Quote in #Amethyst goes already with #zap split, that's a very good feature.. ofc people can choose to don't split but it shows and it's clear the intent of just milking..

You can split the zap in Amethyst when you quote. Forwarding as many zaps as you like to the original post.
Yeah, I liked that feature when I first came across it. I think I'm too lazy to make a lot of use of it, but for those more committed, it's a great feature that's not widely repeated in other clients.
It’s a feature i wish more clients supported. It makes sense if you’re actually adding something to the quoted post. Otherwise a simple repost is more fitting.
Don't see it that way at all tbh; the best npubs I have discovered and follow are based on someone who I already follow reposting. It's pretty much the only discovery 'feature' we have on nostr. Replied don't have the same amplification effect, reposts are 'boosts', zaps are 'thanks', comments/replies are engagement.
This was none of those. It was a quote of my note with no added content or comments from the quoter. Engagement farming.
I'm just wondering why that needs to be a criteria? I mean if I see a note I enjoy myself I might zap it. If I think it's important or want other people to see it, I'll repost. I don't always need or have anything else to add.
My point is just that, it should have been a repost and not a quote. The quoter added nothing. A repost would have been the appropriate action instead of quoting. I’m not sure how this is not making sense 😂
Ah ok, I didn't realize that. Actually I didn't know there was even a distinct difference lol. Some clients automatically quote post reposts I believe. Others don't allow quote posts unless you manually add the note id you want to quote to the new note
Ok, I think I see the difference. If I repost someone's note, it's a 'boost' and any zaps go back to the original note. If I quote post and include someone else's note in mine, it's a new note and zaps go to the new note. Think I got it.
Yea that’s it. On the one hand I’m nit picking—it’s a single post with a meme after all 😂 On the other hand there’s an underlying principle that to me is the real issue, and I feel makes it worth highlighting.
