do you think being able to delete posts should be a feature though? I’m not fully convinced it shouldn’t.
Nah… own your posts and think before you post. Also I think not easy to do or even possible fully. It’s all quite public here. Same as sending an email. Can you delete that after it’s been received by the recipient?
Definitely agree with the notion of owning your posts. But I also think as a society we shouldn’t be so hung up on what someone might have said when they were 21. Philosophically there’s not an obvious answer for me.
Trying to understand why it’s not possible technically: Couldn’t you at least send a request to all your relays to delete it and they could decide whether they comply or not.
I tend to agree - just don’t get too hung up on it. I think it might possible like you say within some of the NIP documentation but I’m no expert. Relays come and go too and you have reposts being spread about on numerous other relays etc, so I think that might contribute to the difficulty factor.
