So there will never be legit global crises? Surely a planet-wide disaster would be a global crisis, no?
Wow. It actually got the joke.
Yeah that’s my impression too. 😔
Yeah that’s similar. NIP-5 doesn’t require anything other than a static JSON. Zaps require an LN service.
Actually the zaps part is not that hard, but that assumes you already have a way to create invoices.
So I need to host a Json file on a domain I own, that’s easy enough. The Json file has a callback to a service that generates lighting invoices. OK, that makes sense to me. What service should I host, or how do I implement it myself?
For somebody that hasn’t been in the bitcoin or lightning ecosystem from day 1, I find the information that I find through Google pretty much indigestible. Like, what do I really need to be able to accept zaps? I know I can use Alby or Wallet of Satoshi, but I want to know how to do it myself.

Microsoft Azure and 365 are train wrecks, stay away. In addition to Azure downtime, check out this dad’s horror show: https://www.jeffgeerling.com/blog/2023/my-daughters-school-took-over-my-personal-microsoft-account
Microsoft Active Directory is a cluster fuck. It’s giving me so much pain. I moved a domain from one registrar to another and that alone broke AD login to Azure.
Hi Tidal fans! I’ve built a website to share Tidal playlists: https://tidalsocial.com/ . You submit a Tidal playlist URL and it suggests other playlists using a recommender engine. From then on, your playlist will get indexed too for other folks. It’s very much in beta with numerous known issues, so be gentle! There’s a known issue that it doesn’t know how to index playlists with unknown artists. It’s also running on a small node right now, so don’t expect great perf.

Relays could act more like IRC channels, where a certain relay powers a group of people with a shared interest. Then, you’d never want to see more than 1 relay at a time in the “global feed.”
