Night shift mode, red screen filters, and blue light blocking glasses are all imperfect band aid solutions to fix something that is disruptive at the core hardware level.

Also, do you really think Apple and Google want you to stare at your phone less at night time?

The only way to fully fix night time screen use is to build a better solution from the ground up. Thatโ€™s what weโ€™ve done nostr:nprofile1qqswhhhf99z77pfg80s2c00z27rusxn2tzss7450n34krkwa2yadhtgpzemhxue69uhkzafwwfjkcctev93xcefwdaexwqgkwaehxw309aex2mrp0yh8qunfd4skctnwv46q9hgm2f

Years of development, hassling suppliers with no leverage to make custom switches that are a net benefit to the end user. Thatโ€™s what it takes. And weโ€™re just getting startedโ€ฆ

Arenโ€™t those red glasses the same ones I used to make quilts? No sass ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

This is actually such an interesting perspective, most people donโ€™t realize how deep the issue goes beyond just software fixes.

I'm very happy with mine - I don't even care about the blue light nonsense - it simply has the *best* handwriting experience of any tablet I have ever tried (I tried them all).

Only the Kindle Scribe feels even better, but obviously the Kindle operating system is a steaming pile of shit, rendering the amazing hardware basically useless.

If you ever build a DC2, all I would ever want would be a better screen resolution. Reading text through the DC1 is always somewhat blurry, and I'm not even sure if better *resolution* is the key here - I have a suspicion that there is some ragged glass surfaces that creates the blurriness and it is probably that exact surface that creates the amazing paper-like feel when using the stylus.

So my questions are:

1) are you guys aware that the screen looks a bit blurry (I lack a better word, but it clearly is not as crisp as an iPad or real paper or any Kindle)

2) if yes, do you think there are ways to improve this without sacrificing the amazing handwriting feeling?

3) if yes to 2), is it on your roadmap for a future device?

4) bonus question: are you even working on a follow-up hardware or are you purely focused on software updates for the forseeable future?
