At this point it really comes down to one SIMPLE question
That no one has been able to effectively answer
Why would I run CORE 30 instead of Knots?

Because the devs said so π
Because, like the devs, you want to kill Bitcoin.
Oooh. I know!
Because most people don't know how to do any of this shit and the devs who do know how are too deep inside their own heads to figure out how to bridge to and communicate with relative normies.
Frankly I barely figured out how to set up a node a couple years ago and I'm not even sure I have it set up fully correctly.
I tried downloading Knots but I don't know what do to after that.
That's why I'm running Core and not Knots. Devs are unable to produce products that normies can use. You have to treat us like we're 5 or it's not going to fucking happen.
Knots runs itself once installed. The default settings are good.
As I said, I tried downloading Knots but I don't know what to do after that.
As far as I know, installing comes after downloading which would mean that installing falls within the "I don't know what do do" issue.
βYou have to treat us like weβre 5 or itβs not going to fucking happen.β
FACTS! Look, Iβm in my 30βs so Iβm pretty good with technology, but I donβt understand ANY of this
No one has said it. Core usage has plummeted and the community is abandoning them.
Best solution is to stick to Core v27 or v28 and & turn datacarrier size to zero.
Great question.
Maybe because you dont want to download the whole chain again? I dunno .. I went from no node to Knots.
Finer question ... why go from 29 to 30?
Whats the incentive?
No need to redownload the chain again in order to switch btw. Not advocating for one side or the other, just pointing that out.
Agree with aboveπ. No need to redownload the chain or reindex. Just run the other binary
OK, great technical input.
So easy to switch to Knots !
Have you guys ever spun up a 2nd Node on a 2nd machine and just copied over the files containing the chain? Downloading the blockchain took me forever.
Yes, correct. This is the trillion dollar question that the cOrE team cannot answer, because they know their arguments are completely nonsensical and deceptive.
Isn't their claim UTXO bloat? The change will help that and the trade off is opening something, OP_RETURN, that stops nothing anyway.
This is the basics of how I understand the argument. Like many I am just trying to understand.
Learn.
Run whatever you want.
