Twitter is dying a VERY slow death

It's definitely a -- move/catalyst that will inspire the next phase --- I think it may be shortsighted ...because just--- 'cutting access' and making the barrier to participation a binary choice----makes it so that...a good chunk of quasi-tweet folks..(people that dabble in Twitter still and engage and share content outside of Twitter)...will be forced to essentially---engage more...OR....tear of the band-aid and adapt without --- I think it's likely....given the growth of new options...that this backfires...and folks that aren't inside 'walled gardens' .... begin focusing more on all the fine fruit and forests growing all around outside of 'walls'

And just like that, my passive viewing of twitter has gone from 'daily' to 'never'. G...uh...well, bye.

A logical move, though, since otherwise developers would just scrape the feed instead of using the API.

It is a private company, they can do whatever if it is legal. The problem is people adding content to it. Opt out

#[0] As a result of this, please stop posting twitter links. Its basically just spam now since we can't even see the content

while also making it impossible to make an account or have any interactions without paying

I'm guessing this would also prevent tweets embedded on websites from displaying when not logged in.

This is how I used Twitter. No more Lopp tweets for me 😕
