Get your water from a local artesian spring or a well. I have a good well on my own property.
When I lived in the city i would bring glass carboys to the local brewery. They used to let you fill up outside for free. When they shut that down because of muggings then I had to order Culligan delivery, but that was 15 years ago before I knew about RO.
If none of that is available or too expensive then drink remineralized reverse osmosis water. Have a RO system installed if you live in the city, they are cheap. Fill up a glass 5gal carboy and remineralize by pouring appropriate powders into it. Buy a pottery dispenser to hold the carboy upsidedown. Clean it every month or two. You can follow this formula:
