Anyone else find it hard being a parent, and a sovereign individual who doesn't like being told what to do, telling your kids to just shut up and do what your told cuz I know better 😂😂😂😂😂

Nope. I've never had a problem being a hypocrite when it comes to my kids.

Not really. Children need time to develop wisdom in order to understand the world and make decisions for themselves. In the meantime they must rely upon their parent's wisdom.

It's a parents job to get them to that point as quickly as possible

"Do as I say not as I do" comes from a place of love and wisdom.

Don't drink until you're old enough.

Don't smoke because I don't want you to become the nicotine addict that I am.

Etc.

That’s a great response and perspective. I’m guilty of being hard on myself as a parent sometimes.

I try to promote independence. I don’t want my girls having to rely on a man (or other woman) to take care of them.
