Catching up and I am trying to figure out what the hype was about.

No hype. It’s pointless imo.

It just seemed like it was a topic of discussion over the last few days and felt like deja vu.

Yeah, seems like we were talking about this in December or January.

I think it's just an awareness campaign. People new to nostr might be under the impression that DMs are more private than they actually are.
