Covid lockdown ruin it for me...

Yes and no. I like the ability to have the choice. Some days I don't want to go in, but it's nice being able to see my coworkers in person at times.

When my kids are home, yeah.

Wait you ‘enjoy’ working while your kids are home? #beastmode. How though? 🤔

I don’t have a kids but I can imagine that it’s impossible 😁

Imagine working with constant music in the background but it’s at various volumes and genres that you can’t control 😂 jk. I do love the flexibility of traveling and work with Mr e but it’s not perfect

😂😂😂

I like my kids being around. They're pretty cool.

Rather just go to the office if the house is empty. 🤷

I need to know your tricks! 💜😂

Raise kids that you like more than your co-workers. 🤷

Waaaat

when my kids aren't home, yeah.

Yes for everything except wearing nicer clothes feels like a chore vs something fun. I haven’t worn makeup in probably 6 years. Trying to get back to those things.

Did they force you to come back ?

I’ve been a contractor since 2017 🧡 Now that I’m seeking a more domestic life v working all the time, I could see myself going into an office.

I donno. Feels a super fortunate convo to have though. 💜 My family works in healthcare and community service so it’s always frontline.

what’s that like?

Boring

hoping one day to give it a run (depending on the tech)…but can see how it could potentially be boring…I probably wouldn’t last long if that were the case.

It's probably still novel for me, since I just started working from home a month ago, but I am definitely enjoying it, and enjoying not spending so much in gas.

More fiat that can be divested into Bitcoin. 😉

i didn't like it at first because im a social person and i missed my work friends. i missed going to lunch with them. i missed bsing during the work day with coworkers. i missed going for happy hour.

fast forward about 6 months and i was used it it. my closest friends from work i see a couple times a month. we get food and beers or go boating in the summer.

the extra family time is great! i no longer have to drive an hour each way to and from work. that gives me extra time with my family. and i can help out around the house or with the kids.

overall, i enjoy the freedom and the professionalism of working from home. and one of the best parts? no longer do i get people coming to my desk and standing there waiting for me to finish up what im working on to talk to me about something that should be an email or a service request or a change request! 😉

it's been over 3 years now and i would not change it for anything. im not going back into the office.

Hear here

Fair! There are definitely pros and cons in it ! But being at home too much time also freaking out 😅

oh god yes. sometimes i get stir crazy. ask nostr:npub1jrcfyw8n298jf83txvlxzx0w7jtfwqs0j4ha0dnn9ns33hgm209sqejdcc. out of nowhere i'll be like i haven't left the house in 3 days we need to go do something NOW! OMG OMG OMG!

now with warmer weather, i leave the house every day so i should be good for 6 months or so.

I’ve always worked from home. The main downside, there’s a lot of workplace harassment, and every hire is based on nepotism. Also, the secretary keeps making eyes at me.

have you filed a complaint with yourself?

Unfortunately, I don’t have an in with the HR department anymore. I said their biscuits and gravy weren’t like moms, and all of a sudden I’m the bad guy.

Agree with this! I’ve been doing the remote thing for 12ish years now and I would never go back. I used to commute 4 hrs to meet clients for a 1 hour meeting. Insane. That was before I had Mr e. Can’t imagine wasting so many hours in a car daily. I respect ppl who have to but glad the alternative working scenarios have become possible in certain industries. But that said, shared work spaces, coffee shops and restaurants to work and mix it up are good too!

during most of the school year last year, i would take our daughter to school in the mornings. every Wednesday i would stop by a coffee shop on the way home. i would get a cup or two of coffee and work for a couple of hours just to break up my day and the week a bit. i really enjoyed doing that.

i preferred in-office with the option to wfh when needed. i miss the culture in office and eating lunch with my team and friends every day.

plus getting cute for work 💅

Yeah the socializing with coworkers in person is a cool thing that definitely a missing part of working from home mode.

Novelty wears quickly

It’s convenient, but I really miss going somewhere for work. To social aspect, the mentality, etc.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Yes.

More than work from work, yes.

Commute alone is a huge positive.

It took me years to get it set up right though & I've been doing it long before 2020.

Love it. I work with my wife so it works well. I do get out and see customers 1-2 times per week. But doing the actual work at home is great. We have a solid office setup which helps too.

I don’t mind working on remote.

For certain sprints of work no. The freedom to choose is what I enjoy.

I begged to go back to work. The flexibility to work from home has been great, but the novelty of doing it all the time wore off fast.

I wouldn’t change it at all! Answer is YES

I love it. I have been remote since 2013. At 1st it was lonely which took a minute to get used to. The amount of extra time that I have to devote to my actual life though is astounding. Working from home I can take care of my animals on my lunch hour, pick berries, garden, clean out my game cams. It has pushed a lot of ‘weekend’ activities to just life. It is a great hybrid lifestyle to pair with homesteading

Yes.

Especially paired with being self-employed.

The thought of commuting and working for someone else is repulsive.
