Okay, I'm getting old or something, but can someone explain what people mean when they use the "call me" symbol: 🤙?

Clearly it's not "call me" in the contexts that I'm seeing it used.

OH, RELIEF, BECAUSE IT READ A BIT LIKE AN UNWELCOME INTERVENTION, IN CONTEXT

Its like hang ten, unless its at the ear then its call me

haha it’s the “Shaka” emoji. You’re most likely seeing it mean awesome or cool or friendly greeting.

Back in December '22 when the first big influx of users joined nostr nostr:nprofile1qqsgydql3q4ka27d9wnlrmus4tvkrnc8ftc4h8h5fgyln54gl0a7dgspp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpzemhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuurjd9kkzmpwdejhgqg4waehxw309aex2mrp0yhx6mmnw3ezuur4vgkhjsen was replying to every new person with 🤙. That's how it became popular around here. It's also the default "like" emoji on Damus.
