Banning social media with young kids will be a good thing
Kids will and should go back to doing kid things like playing sports, swimming, cycling, keeping pets etc

But what do they mean by social media? Roblox and Minecraft? Or YouTube? That’s what most younger kids are using for social media.
And the keeping kids inside and scheduled is not because of social media. It’s changing in how we parent and raise kids.

it fucks with your dopamine (I'd even go as far as argue that the modern growth in mental illnesses is mostly due to social media)
Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite as social spaces are a completely different beast - you play with your friends you know from school or neighborhood
banning kids from those is essentially ending local social gatherings
very different social group compared to algos fucking you in the head with constant dopamine pumps with 5s globally sourced videos
a blanket "ban on social media" will never work
gotta change how social media works in the first place

This is totally up to the parents if they want to not have kids on social media.
My opinion I have a 7 yr old and I'm totally fine with him not being on social media until he is older
