Cut all dairy and I'm sure someone on here has some wonderful concoction to suggest but good old "throat coat" tea works pretty good I always have some around.

I’ve always liked Ricola honey lemon throat drops but if you are looking for something more, I usually drink camomile tea with raw honey, sometimes I’ll add peppermint leaves too… but if you have spruce or pine, I’d make some tea from some fresh needles

Good swig of moonshine (or any white corn liquor) will help clear everything out. Honeez (I think that’s how they spell it) are cough drops without a bunch of bull crap in them, the ones with lemon are really strong and open you up pretty well. Other than that it sounds like you already trying the herbal recommendations.

Sore throat is a toughie for me, all other cold-ish symptoms I can take care of with homeopath.

If you're near a Chinese supermarket, get your hands on this:

Thick syrupy texture. It does have some artificial sugar in it, but the combination of the herbs does soothe the throat and even help with stopping coughing very well.
