Oh gosh, you're gonna love it... and then it's all over so fast!
So happy you're seeing it!!
Bill Bailey
Dylan Moran and
Tamsin Greig
"The only stars we're going to see Manny... are Dunlop stars."
"Michelin stars."
My favorite part of the whole show is the piano. "Spoon me." ๐ค
"I have brought my father, my grandfather and my great grandfather from Odessa just to hear you play!"
Ooh, the Three blind mice. I must binge today. ๐ค It's like a Man from Acapulco, I know every detail, yet can watch 80 times.
We got through the first six eps and would've done more but I was sleepy ๐.
A season a day is enough even though that show is limitless ๐
It's UK made tho so 30minutes an episode without adverts compared to USA and their 21 minute airtime.
I think it's the lack of syndicated commercials and general garbage MADE to distract you from the very thing you're tuned in for!!
P.S. 3 hours (6 eps) is commendable for a first viewing and especially with the dreadful laughter track some shows do... except the laughter really IS laughter in this one :D
Commercials are shit. We ditched tv way before it was cool (before dvd netflix was a thing ๐ณ). We have tons of dvds from those days, so I have a particularly strong hatred for commercials.
Thatโs a great series. Thanks for reminding me of it!

Anything but doing the taxes. Calling mother. The Jehova witnesses. Pair all socks. Anything. I can so relate to him.
I've been watching Dylan Moran's standups and Bill Bailey's concerts lately, not that I don't know all of them for decades. I love them both so much๐ฅ https://youtu.be/1LdjVtHqNxs #billbailey #musicstr
Some recs from people have been meh, Tigs has been on fire.
When it comes to shows, I hope you're familiar with Red Dwarf. ๐
Hahah yeah it's been a while but gonna queue that one now!! Red Dwarf, BlackAdder and several UK shows truly are the pinnacle of comedy
I found myself just binging the usual tv series lately. The Big fat quiz of the year is great, also 8 out of 10 cats playing Countdown or Would I lie to you. It's the same gang over and over and it's perfect just to buzz by when I'm manually working.
Ah you seen Peep Show then I'm guessing? David Mitchell is fricking amazing. Rob Brydon and Lee Mack also are awesome but Peep Show to me is up there as one my mega favs
There's Last one Laughing UK, still very same people including Richard Ayoade and Jimmy Carr, for some reason I found that fun to watch twice. It's not "funny," but watching comedy professionals trying to crack each other (and not themselves) is wild.

The Wrong Mans is great too.
Not UK, but similar vibe, Other Space is an amazing underrated space comedy.

I watch an entire series one night when I was babysitting as a teenager
What a good choice. โค๏ธ
Fantastic show
I only remember watching bits and pieces, it was on late at night here. Need to watch it.
You could say that my life has been one of indulgence from day one haha. I take my media very seriously, it is the pinnacle of free human expression to me.
I'm disgusted frankly with humanity and some peoples desire to cancel culture, and episodes and movies and books and games and music too. These things only enrich everyones lives so I don't quite get it.
I am only who I am because of the great media I have consumed like an avarice junkie haha. If anything it lets me discern what is good and what is well... crap ๐
Got my multicultural upbringing to thank ๐ 4 year olds don't usually grow up on Monty Python ๐

I swear I almost died when my sister said she thought Manny said he swallowed a bucket of cum, not "the little book of calm"
Go watch Father Ted and the IT Crowd if you haven't seen them too. If I had to choose the funniest comedy series I have ever seen it would be Father Ted and Linehan was involved in all of them.
We tried to watch Father Ted with my boys recently but they couldnโt get over how distracting the laughter track is. A real shame
That is a shame, it did put me off it the first time I watched it but I found it eventually adds to the cheesy out of date feeling of it all kind of like the 70's wallpaper and Dougal's He-Man duvet cover.
IT Crowd is my absolute favourite ๐คฉ
We watched IT crowd last night, it was hilarious!
Iโve watched and rewatched it so often and I laugh every single time ๐๐
I'm so sad it's taken us this long to watch it. I was laughing so hard when they were talking about sports ๐คฃ
Iโm so excited youโre watching it!!
Half my memes are from this show. You will now understand me a lil bit better ๐
And bonus we can now communicate in it crowd mode ๐
Loving IT Crowd, first season of that one done ๐.
