Guavas are a bit hit or miss I've found.

I don't think I've ever bought a guava though. The ones in the shops always seem unripe/hard or brown/overripe.

I have little strawberry/cherry guavas growing & I always enjoy their fruit.

I've had a feijoa (pineapple guava) growing for 3 years but it's never fruited. I remember filling my pockets with these on my walk home from school. Hopefully next year it will fruit.

There are guava trees in my neighbourhood that I've tried but they all taste bland. The gritty texture & lack of flavour is disappointing.

This year I planted a Thai pink guava that I hope will fruit quicker than the feijoa.

I rarely eat it, too, but in all fairness I can rarely find it where I live and it definitely wouldn't grow here. I like it, though. It reminds me of juniper syrup.

Guava juice is magical tasting. I think I'm on a quest to grow the fruit that tastes like that. 🤣

I've not tried juniper syrup.

You maybe should sometime. It is also quite magical.
