Tattoos have existed for thousands of years, and are not complicated technology.

Yet, until just a couple of generations ago, in majority of cultures, they were almost exclusively acquired by professional criminals and rather unwise people.

No self respecting, intellectual, and upwardly mobile person would waste time and money on one, much less on covering themselves with such nonsense then.

So, the current prevalence is clearly a result of modern mass marketing taking advantage of herd mentality and behaviour.

I still think they are the domain of fools, and assess those I encounter on that premise: the more tattoos they have, the less wise, more easily brainwashed and more generally ignorant they are.

Talk about judging a book by it's cover...

No one sensible reads every book they pick up either.

Rather many if not most books are full of rubbish and a waste of time. That's one reason covers have the main idea of the book on them.

I agree a second time. Amazing... Easily 99℅ of books are complete trash, and 100℅ of books recommended to me and which I read, could have made their point more clearly with 1/20th the writing. Most books should have been pamphlets.

I bet you don't even know what money is. Judging a book by it's cover is a foolish thing to do. It's also handy if the govgov ever tries switching your body 🤣

A tattoo is the only form of art you will ever own, laying claim to the only form of physical property you will ever truly own.

I met a gal who said she would never date a guy with tattoos. She had tattoos herself. I think her reason was "because he thinks too much of himself" or something.

i had a roommate who was a tattoo artist and he was constantly zapping himself with the laser thing, adding to the art. he explained that it was addicting at a point. he was black so I had to look close to see the tattoos
