GM. I just bought 2 more new banana varieties & planted them this morning for the equivalent of 12K sats.

The top variety is apparently Dwarf Ducasse & the lower one is Santa Catarina. Both in the ground & mulched now.

There's something I love about procuring a new scarce variety of fruit tree. I don't even like eating bananas 🤣

Bananas make excellent support plants by providing lots of water retaining mulch. The fruit can be eaten, sold or fed to pigs.

GM sir, wow heck yeah that’s awesome not a bad start to the morning eh? 🔥

Yeah for sure.

Our state restricts who can buy & sell banana plants. It's also extremely hard, time consuming & costly to import new varieties.

It's not often you find someone selling these uncommon varieties to the public but I always keep my eye out.

In a year or 2 I'll hopefully be able to propogate from these plants & maybe taste their fruit.

Wow I had no idea, that’s so wild. Sounds like you scored, nothing better than being able to literally taste the fruits of your labor.

I have a meyer lemon tree and an orange tree which existed when we moved in. So nice to have an endless amount of fruit on deck. Started an avocado tree from a pit a few years ago…just last week I grafted it with a branch from a producing plant. Hoping to have some avos in maybe 5 years haha. Gotta maintain that low time preference and enjoy the process. 🤙

It's such a trip when you think about it. 30 mins work + a couple of years of care & you have a plant that makes free food for you. From that plant you can multiply it many times over.

I'm done buying avocado plants. Ironically the most recent 2-3 I've bought are actually doing quite well. The other 5 have I've bought, died slowly over a decade. I've a feeling my new ones (yet to sprout) will quickly overtake them in size. It'll be interesting to watch.

As a Bitcoiner I find real value in taking seeds & cuttings to propogate new plants at very little cost. It feels very open source to me.

Low time preference is a must. All it takes is a seed, some work & linear time. It kind of applies to most things in life. You've gotta trust the process & plant lots of seeds.

Well said, brother 🔥

Good work.

Nice GM!

I'm pretty sure, left to my own devices, I'd have planted these upside down. 😂🤣

Bananas are surprisingly resilient.

There's a good chance it would survive.
