It's not necessary, but as I told you on Bluesky 🫂💜 🤙🏻 Being able to give content creators a little bit of money for content that I enjoyed or found valuable is truly different and just feels right when you try it. It's how social media should have always been instead of monetizing user's personal information.

Paying for private relay access allows me to pay for services I use, because they have real world costs. I like to pay for services I use.

And since Nostr was built by Bitcoiners that understand that the current financial system is broken, of course Nostr is going to use a better financial system for payments for these sorts of things.
