What messengers are you using and how do you convince your friends to not just use whatsapp?

Iā€˜m looking at SimpleX right now since it was advertised here and there, but the hard part is getting your peers to use alternative technologies, in my opinion.

I would like to use keet.io, but nobody is switching to it. I can talk about it as much as I want. If no one is interested, it simply doesn't matter.

I'm talking about my personal friends mostly. I'm into very different things than they are. Everyone uses WhatsApp, and a few use Telegram. Saying "let's switch to Keet" in the WhatsApp group doesn't work at all. I doubt anyone even clicked on the link šŸ˜‚

We've got it too good, I suppose.
