Why are you in Kyiv? I'm paying a lot of taxes for people to not be there.

I'm in Kyiv right now and Russia is going all out trying to bomb the city, with explosions audible every few seconds:

This is the blackout schedule. Though the electricity keeps on flickering outside the schedule:

At the moment about a million Ukrainians in Dnipro are without any power, and many of those don't have heat or water. Weather is expected to reach -13ยฐC soon.
The sooner Ukraine manages to collapse tbe Russian electricity grid the better. The fact that the internet so easily goes down is a good sign of lack of resiliency.
At some point Russians freezing to death stop paying the taxes that funds their genocide. And no tax paying Russian is a civilian โ they're all active participants in genocidal war, and just as valid military targets as Russian soldiers are.

...and tell me, who exactly are you paying taxes too?
The Polish government makes a big profit from their Ukrainian refugees, as they pay a lot more in taxes than they cost.
Germany doesn't release those figures. But they're most likely profiting as well. Ukrainians are competent, white Christians; this shouldn't be surprising.
If you want to complain, complain about all the third world "refugees" in your country.
No Peter. I'm worried about your safety.
I'm in Ukraine frequently got a lot of reasons, e.g delivering a donated 4x4 recently, and getting institutions there to use OpenTimestamps. Also, I like Ukraine. It's a nice, cheap, libertarian county with low taxes, low crime, and good weather (I like snow). If not for Russia trying to kill everyone it'd be awesome.
I've risked my life doing a lot of dangerous things for fun. Some risk for something worthwhile is perfectly acceptable.
Ukrainians with ยง24 residence status receive Bรผrgergeld (free money!) in Germany without any obligation to work or pay taxes. There is no immediate requirement for them to take or do a job.
They are allowed to work, but do NOT have to, and benefits like the Bรผrgergeld are paid to them even without employment... Including even free health care/insurance.
And "free" here means: The Germans pay for that.
Third world refugees have to go through an asylum procedure, must declare their assets and income fully, live in collective accommodation, receive only reduced benefits (asylum seeker allowances) and are not allowed to work for weeks/months. This stuff is well checked and controlled.
Ukrainians under ยง24 are totally unchecked regarding their income and assets and not treated as regular asylum seekers, but as temporarily protected persons.

Skill issue.
Anyway, Germany is free to send them back. Ukraine would rather have their productive refugees back, especially the men. Send them back with some Taurus cruise missiles while you're at it, and you won't have to deal with them again.
At the moment Russia is trying hard to make Ukrainian cities completely unlivable by destroying the electricity grid, along with water and heating. If Russia succeeds, you're going to have tens of millions of Ukrainians that realistically are going to end up on the EU whether you want it or not. So if you don't, make sure Russia loses.
