Looking at your setup again... I would bet the culprit is your AGM batteries. They hate being deeply discharged, and it doesn't look like you have a dc regulator after the battery which would prevent this.

Iโ€™m not following how a regulator in and of itself helps. What you need is some circuit to prevent leakage once you hit some threshold (Undervoltage Protection). I suppose it could be a regulator but could be much simpler
