The amount of food I've been forced to toss while working in food service because I could not physically fit it into my refrigerator is disgusting.

That sucks. Good par stock management and overall stock management can help reducing such terrible waste. My friends work with mostly local produce and their range of meats. They run a very tight kitchen and basically get daily deliveries and produce upon order. It's a very good place. But yes, I also hate throwing food away. I don't buy food to throw it away.
to add. I literally hate our "throw-away society". From food to clothes to electronics. It's all buy and dispose these days. Terrible
