There are many examples of ostrich themed logos floating around. They work. Why completely disregard the organic branding imagery that has grown from within Nostr’s most active users? It’s not a company. It’s open. I understand if the ostrich is not to everyone’s taste, and there is nothing to stop someone from using alternative branding. But for anyone to insinuate that it’s time to get rid of the ostrich is pretty egotistical.

I'm not suggesting it's time to get rid of the ostrich. We can (and will) have multiple logos coexist

Agreed and we already do. Nothing wrong with presenting this as a logo that’s available to use publicly. My issue is how he presented it, calling it THE LOGO and specifically saying that “people” wanted it be non-ostrich themed. Which people? Niel is receiving OpenSats funding to do Nostr design, so is this something OpenSats is pushing for? I certainly have not seen much open discussion about it.

hear, hear!
