If you're on Android you can use Firefox with nos2x-fox to try web clients that might do a better job handling file types like mp3

That makes it harder

You could try making a throwaway npub in a web client like nostrudel.ninja without any signer extension, using the throwaway npub to upload the file, and then copying and pasting the URL for the file on your regular npub
