Not officially, but they offer you (now attention 😂) to pay $10/mo for a cloud backup service that would store you seed and which you can then recover in case of emergency by showing your ID to them 😂🤣

the storage service is chargeable, so they're not going to apply it to everyone. I stay at ledger and I decide to manage my seed phrase myself
The problem is not to fear that they do extract your seed. The problem is that they admit they CAN! Since the software is closed source, you never can be sure they didn’t do anything with your seeds before
I don't see the interest for ledger to save all the seed phrases of each user. it would be very costly for them. They just offer a solution for the dizzy.
Storing all the seeds would cost almost nothing. Just add a new field to the user data base next to your email and phone number. Done.

And no, not any service can sniff your data. If a software is opensource, it is verifiable. Ledger is not open source, so you can never be 100% sure.
