wow. smh

Glad you are bringing this all to the forefront

You said the D word that is now synonymous with shitcoin scams

Haha. Maybe that was it?

🤷‍♂️ might try a shorter post just say “new type of social media”, users include Jack and Snowden. And then location. Short and sweet might do the trick.

Social *network

Shitcoin scams are ok when they've paid for advertising on Reddit.

My bad. I forgot to pay 😆

I live fairly close but I'll be working away from home that weekend.

That's okay. We'll do another one at some point.

Not to sound critical but it sort of does read as a spam-ish post.

It may have worked better as a more normal post and less of an advert. Like 'hello we are organising a (free?) talk about decentralised social media protocols at penn state...blah blah'.

A more conversational post or something.

Who knows maybe that would also be deleted lol.

But generally I think a lot of Nostr content on other platforms can come across as too spammy. (I think you have to imagine for eg if farcaster made that post, how would you read it? And put yourself in that skeptical headspace, cos that is often how it comes across).

I quite like the recent Reason video as a go-to for sharing. It's quite informative and doesn't come across as too much of a hard sell lol

I tried to make it sound fun and exciting version a dry advertisement with no flair.

Unfortunately that is a pretty standard tone and how a lot of advertising sounds nowadays lol. Just think of eg innocent smoothies or on the pack of oat milk.

I does sound a little sales-ey. Like, if I didn't know any better I might assume something was being sold.

I wonder why. (It’s afraid.)

You forgot inclusive language. You need more subservience to state approved messaging. It just, how do I put it, too much freedom... I mean. What are trying to foment? 😉

Nostr is incredibly inclusive though. It's an open protocol. Ugh.

I wonder if there's some obscure rule this somehow violated. In my experience, the people who run reddit subs aren't the most fair or reasonable people. For many of them, moderating a reddit sub is the pinnacle of their existence, and they quickly become drunk on the modicum of power running a sub affords them. They're sad.

Now that sounds like right wing talk... Anymore of that and the reddit mods will ban you. 😉

💯

Let's not give the students stupid ideas. Like, their privacy matters, their right to speech etc etc. It's better this way. They're teaching worker bees not revolutionaries.

One might think...

I can count on one hand the number of times I have made a reddit post and NOT had the mods take it down

Nostriches links to youtube videos. I understand this, because its very popular and to have mainstream moved to Nostr & Blossom will take time. Anyhow, Google/Youtube is tracking more, blocking more and keeps showing more ads. Should Nostr clients (optionally) rewrite Youtube links / embeds into an alternative without tracking and no ads such as Invidious? For example the post nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzq0mhp4ja8fmy48zuk5p6uy37vtk8tx9dqdwcxm32sy8nsaa8gkeyqy88wumn8ghj7mn0wvhxcmmv9uq3jamnwvaz7tmjv4kxz7fwd4hk6mmnw3ezuurfde4j7qpqdvq66veglag8uz8mquzrqmzrfetwpm6nwatwdnlded2knkk4z5wqe9wv46 by nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 should such Youtube videos link/embed to https://inv.nadeko.net/watch?v=aA-jiiepOrE or so? #asknostr #privacy #ads #freedom
