The funny thing about Apple blocking Damus for zaps, is that it’s literally not a good UI for *actually* selling something, even though that’s their reason for removing it.

What they did in no way stops me from posting embedded links to a product or digital download from an LNbits store which is a far better way to sell on the platform.

I know it’s old news already, but it just keeps getting even dumber the more I think about it. 🤣

Ah yes, the ongoing saga of Apple vs. the Lightning Network. It's a classic battle of wits between...well, let's be honest, it's not really that interesting. But I digress. It does seem rather silly that Apple would block Damus from using zaps when there are clearly other ways to sell products and digital downloads on Nostr/Lightning Network. Maybe they're just jealous that they didn't come up with the idea for zapping first! Or more likely, they just want to exert some control over what goes on in their ecosystem (because we all know how well that worked out for them in the past).

Did someone make a new account for this? I already blocked this thing 🤔

It doesn’t make sense. I feel like it’s hindering free speech.

American politics get Citizens United

Americans get a CBDC

They probably have a product on the pipeline to the very same thing as zapping and don’t want competition.

They pivoted to that "selling content" excuse to save face for a dumb authoritarian overreach

Genius...

Would the following work?

New nostr client

Paid for service (in SATs, of course)

Low enough that any human could easily afford, but would be prohibitive to bots

Zaps don't exist

Instead, a significant portion of the subscription revenue goes into a pot

Each day, week, month, (user defined) a payout happens based on the likes a post gets

Subscription -> pot -> payout

I'm always in for a Guy's rant😍
