Who else thinks being a nice guys is a defensive mechanism?

I knew a guy who was a nice guy who did not provide much value. He later cheated on his girlfriend.

He lost his nice guy status and got exiled. All of sudden, he is now that fat loser with the bum job. hmm interesting.

People who don't offend anyone aren't themselves. Chameleons

Yup, I always knew he was a waste mans, but they said oh he's soo nice.

I told them without him being nice what else is there... just crickets.

Now that he isn't nice and gave his girl an STI now all his flaws can be visibly outlined.

here is what counts:

stick to your once chosen values no matter what comes up

and you will have (had) a happy life

it depends. i guess it could be—like a deep need for approval..?

but a lot of "nice guys" are only nice to get something out of it. if they get told "no," they become not so "nice."

what do you mean by defensive mechanism?

There niceness is not geninue it's a means of survival.

oooooh

that makes perfect sense
