not sure how i feel about new years resolutions
don't really work goal-based necessarily, as i'd rather have systems in place and be an eternal student that way

Just stack sats.
Simple.
i've been sending them to my sister, to teach her the magic of stacking 🤗
Totally relate, hard structuring and constraints don't really work for me.
1) Where would you see yourself/like to be in the next 2 or 3 years?
2) what are you doing currently that helps you move towards your goals? Continue doing/do more of that.
3) find the next few things to do after your done with your immediate goals? Plan to work on them after.
Repeat and update as necessary
yes, exactly so
thank you for putting words to my ideas
I think resolutions can be helpful as a dose of motivation.
I also think most people fail at meaningful change because they start at a resolution, and then fail to build on top of it.
Que burnout and relapse within 6 weeks. Rinse and repeat every year. 'This time will be different.'
change your identity, not goals
a smoker who wants to quit the action of smoking still identifies themselves as a smoker, even after quitting the action
Former smoker here. Success after seven tries. Never a New Year Resolution. Always related to having a cold etc. Always give yourself the whole year to achieve your resolution not overnight. ✌️
Former smoker as well. It took 13 attempts to make it stick. I had to swallow my ego and realize I am an addict and must remain vigilant. Started thinking of myself as a nonsmoker. Perspective was a game changer.
Glad you made it through 🫂
