Why does a social media platform use algorithms in your feeds when you obviously follow the people you want to see?

Because they want to manipulate what you see for their profit.

They never cared about what you want.

It’s right there in the tos agreement that you didn’t read.

Nothing you post is truly yours they own it on their platform that you use.

The other reason is that it can improve your feed by eliminating junk and auto bringing you relevant content. The issue is that you do not want them owning, selling, and manipulating this convenience.

Open-source markeyplace of smart feed filters are the way.

When the data belongs to the company, law enforcement can request that data from the company directly. Historically, they usually comply. When it’s on nostr, who can they request that data from? Not your keys, not your notes.
