Aren't apricot seeds almonds?

Almonds don't have edible outsides, it's like wallnuts. I think🫣 But my concern is cyanide in apricot seeds, there's rather high amount, right?
I used to eat them little all the time, because we had a big old apricot tree, but lately we don't and that cyanide thing kinda scared me off🫢
About 35 years ago I remember my uncle telling me this about Apricot Seeds. I asked him why they don’t just sell the seeds since the area we lived in grew them for export. He said the government collects all the seeds and burns them for all the fruit that was getting processed or drying out. Strange right.
