It feels like someone somewhere started a rumor that money laundering causes mass inflation or something.
Or maybe it's the whole "they didn't pay their taxes so you gotta pay it".
Because I don't get it otherwise.

Its the taxes part. People are mad that they have to pay taxes while others get out of it, all the while they never seem to question how much they get taxed and what they get out of it (not much).
Except that money laundering is specifically choosing to pay taxes on ill-gotten gains. I think they mean tax evasion when they say money laundering.
