Every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them.

Every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart.

If I live long enough, my heart will be 100% dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.

That's a lovely thought but I don't think it works that way mate

I feel this.

Well said, I still miss Dug.

…and it’s reversed for cats. Every cat that comes into someone’s life destroys a piece of their hearts.

Beautifully put 🦮

I trust you fully!

I am still with our first dog ( lovely 6 years old lady - Golden retriever) and I do not want to think at all about that time …

… but your tell resonates a lot!

This is a perfect description of the process you go through with a dog 🥹

I lost my best (canine) friend of more than 15 years to cancer last week. I hope I gave him a life as good as the one he gave me.

My dog & I have been together 5yrs as of three days ago. We went backing up a mountain two weeks ago, & spent three days on the coast last week hiking and taking long walks on the beach. She's the most loving happy & friendly being I could hope to spend time with. There's a good reason we call dogs man's best friend.

I'll never forget having to put down my dog Maggie. It was a very sad moment having her in my arms while she slipped away. Dogs bring out the best in us, if we let them.
