Do you know how to drive a stick? nostr:note1ukt67t9exthrzxzlj2f562fxvz4znzpy3x6en5apd76yl30g4u8q2ctt24

Yep. My first car was manual (along with the next 3). I miss it.
I was watching a reality home improvement show today and someone was learning to drive a stick. It made me wonder if you can even get anything, other than a sports car, with a manual tranny.
I do, it’s the standard in my home country. Automatic transmission is only popular in North America
Love it, feel more connected to the car
My license says I can but I learnt about 7 years ago I can't... I can ride motorbikes though. 🤔😂
Same concept, different limbs 😂 Like riding a bike…
🤣🤣 Completely different feel too. A motorbike feels like an extention of me... Cars don't have the same feel.
I’ve always felt that was an attractive part of the manual transmission. Feels like you have better control 🤔
It's an attractive part of riding motorcycles to me.. That plus the sheer acceleration one can accomplish.... I once did 190ks in my hubby's car... Was lame and boring... I feel like I'm holding on for dear life at 130 on a bike. I also know my speed without looking at the speedometer on a bike because of how I feel. I have no such knowledge in a car. I have an EV, it really goes but I speed without enjoying it by acident all the time. It's pointless and way less fun. Still a great car just feels like a big go kart.
👍
Only own sticks. They're the norm, here. Used to have to do stick for your driver's license exam.
Feel you 🫂.
( manual exams are easily possible if you want but.. anyone will look at you like "are you such an inferior species?")
Yes. I learned how to drive a car with it and on the hills in Valparaiso 😌
I do and I miss it as well.

Confirmed.
I too miss it

absolutely. here in south africa the majority of cars are manual transmission and probably 99% of people complete their licence using stick
I miss it too.
I do, but almost every car in Japan is automatic.
Let me go back to driving a VW golf GTI 😂
Automatic transmission = Fiat
Manuals = POW 😉

Yeah! Some days I miss driving stick, but most of the time I don’t. Might get one again some day
Wasn’t allowed to get my license until I could drive a stick with smooth transitions and take with no brake lol
