There are endless combos of what one can do but you need the gear to do it. In a crisis I don't want to track down things I don't have. I am only showing my spare gear that is a spare kit no particular preference to brand. This could be stashed at a storage unit you keep with bugout gear. I am a prepper and have a few locations where I have kits of gear and food/water, copies of important paperwork, laptop, id etc. It is all about covering the basics so you have the time and clarity to make good choices.
I agree. My focus on assuming someone will intercept me to look at my shit and to be as unassuming as possible it’s a worthy conversation!
I often think people put too much weight on being searched or confronted. I also think people imagine leaving the country way more than dealing with a local disaster. The end of your world is going to happen before the end of the world. Most likely no one is ever going to get touchy. If things get that spicy then yeah, you start making other choices.
You could be right and that makes sense. I mean, in the event of a natural disaster I know where I would take my family. In the event of civil war, I really don't know where I would go but I would want to be able to pay bribes without telegraphing the extent to which I could pay a bribe. I often settle on having more bullets.
