I was hoping we'd be slightly better prepared for tomorrow's TikTok blackout. Olas is close, and I'm still incredibly excited for it's potential, but it's not ready for the masses, yet. Soon though. Soon it will be ready to onboard those looking to escape Instagram and TikTok.

We need algorithms. Their addictive learning algos are the secret sauce.

Of course for nostr we value transparency and these being voluntarily, but I'd love to see algos that would show me new things that may fit my interests. I don't think DVMs are quite the solution - at least not in their current incarnations.

Algos don't have to be evil for bad. We could have an addicting algo on Nostr. It would be better if it was OPT-IN and OPEN/TRANSPARENT. That's how we win.

The open/transparent part I think is hard to nail. The nature of the model inherently has built-in bias that is more often than not difficult to discern.
