Nah this behavior is just a sad pathetic simulacrum of having a real marriage and a real child.

We live in a society where half of all marriages end in divorce now. I know someone who shares custody of both a dog and a kid with two different exes.

It’s actually not true that half of all marriages end in divorce. That stat is skewed by people who get married and divorced multiple times. It’s probably about 30%.

You kind of took the word right out of my mouth.

Maybe for people that don't have anything more meaningful in life than their dog... That's sad.

stop feeding the dog tell me how strong the bond is

The dog is using you for food and giving you what you need and appearance of loyalty

Did you not get affection as a child?

great logical comeback.

I simply don’t trust people who don’t love dogs.

a real dog gives much more than the appearance of loyalty. This guy we lost to cancer recently would have undoubtedly died to defend my kids, wife or me. You've obviously never had a proper dog. When he found mice under the snow he would bring them to us. I feel bad for you that you've never had a real bond with a real dog.

Not that he is more important than my kids or wife in anyway but I would rather have him than 95% of the humans I've met. 100% unconditional loyalty...
