If you grew up in NYC, you would've known Trump as a blowhard wannabe celebrity. He would always show up at every celebrity event. He would always be on talk shows and call in news channels to stick his shnoze in any popular news event in the city. He was basically a joke, a living meme. The US political system is a WWF/E show. Trump is the perfect character for the clown show. The powers that be realized this with the puppet Obama. Put on a show for the plebs because unfortunately most of them care more about what he thinks of Taylor Swift than actually improving the lives of American citizens which is a boring subject.
