I’m in. How much is needed?

From personal experience Wikipedia’s history largely depends on who has the energy to push an agenda. Not me for sure.

nostr:npub1m3xdppkd0njmrqe2ma8a6ys39zvgp5k8u22mev8xsnqp4nh80srqhqa5sf has been building indextr for a little while https://github.com/limina1/indextr-client/tree/main

i also own nostrwiki.com, so let’s make it happen 💜

I think for a decentralized knowledge base to take off we need to have more emphasis on relays, where different relays have their own criteria for who and what gets posted. However, even if you dont have permission to write to a relay, you can still be heard by making comments on the relays you're allowed to post to, pointing to the original content. Happy to explain more about its design

What's happening with hubbies wiki?

The world needs this

Nostrpedia, coming soon!

The fundamental issue with decentralization is the challenge of decentralized information governance. This can be summarized by the idea that there's no cost to making a statement.

However, there is a solution: Reputation.

Reputation addresses the issue of cost without involving money.

I believe that without a Decentralized Web of Trust Reputation (DWoTR) system, an open decentralized social media or wiki platform will never achieve critical mass.

Until DWoTR is implemented, a decentralized wiki remains a futile endeavor.

Yes, but the content of the wiki needs to be filtered by the web of trust uniquely for each client. Reputation is local not global.

Exactly, reputation and trust are subjective. Therefore, the Nostr platform is ideal, as each client manages its own filtering. The relay server merely provides the information without interference.

Wiki has millions of articles, how can they control all of that content?

Is there a bounty somewhere?

We could hard fork Wikipedia. Have a bot scrape all of Wikipedia and start Wikistr from there.

Love the idea but how would that fix the issue of bad / politically motivated agents making updates? Is it because the edits are tied to an identity?

(Just keen to learn more, not trying to be provocative)

This is urgent. How can I help?

It's about time to let it be a thing of the past

This is exactly what RGK Jr laid out as to how Fauci and this group of demons work.

They cancel people and fear others into submission, or they lose jobs, careers, etc.

I guess the Wikipedia content can be used as starters.. some web crawling. Issue is how do you mediate? or if you dont how do you deal with someone with more clout than you simply claiming false stuff about you? it is a difficult problem.

we need it

The Wiki CEO already said it, wiki is controlled by CIA and FBI. Surprised ?

yesss

I thought Wikipedia was crowdsourced no?

I’d donate some BTC for this.
