I would pay for a Nostr-compatible paid secure email service for me and my family.

Absolutely

Me too, although I'm curious how it would be secured and what compatibility issues might arise with other email providers.

I think nostrplebs.com and nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 already have it Jimmy. You can send an email to your nip-05 and recieve it on your DM 📬

but DM on nostr is not secure. the message is encrypted, but everyone can view with who you DM.

Great reflection, I guess that should be improved.

I’m in.

Why do you need email? It’s so 1990’s

One needs an email address because almost every service you use on the internet requires an email address. Until this changes, we are stuck with email.

Like Telnet, FTP, and Arpanet, email was one of the first successful internet applications, with industry standards set by RFC 822 (!?). I guess that is the reason why a lot of stuff still works using email standards. Some legacy systems are better left untouched. But since today is April Fools’ Day, we should think of something for BIPs like RFC 2549 https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc2549 😂
