I love the #blackwing 602, it’s a great pencil for starting a drawing because it’s “right in the middle” of not-quite-2B-but-close, it’s that or my Rotring.
Those that know, know. Now if they could only put quality erasers on the end instead of the crap that they do - that would be amazing. The best eraser I have ever found is the Staedtler Mars Plastic đź‘Ś!!
Agreed - those Blackwing erasers aren’t worth the price for serious art, but they’re part of the “premium”-ness of the pencils themselves.

Thanks for the inspiration! This idea is so practical and the best thing is that the Blackwing pencils have that detachable metal clip that holds the eraser in place.
The Staedtler erasers are almost the perfect size to simply slice off a bit and stick it in the pencil.

Yes, i always carry one. My favourite is a Faber-Castell Perfect Pencil, as it has an eraser, and a sharpener, also does the posted cap allow to use it to the very end.
Interesting. I typically cut all my pencils in half to make them easier to carry. Wonder if that would work with Faber-Castell Perfect pencil? How does it write tho? The Blackwing is SILKY smooth and dark.
It seems like they have different tiers, i mostly find the hexagonal pencil with a plastic cap, then there’s the one i have with the aluminium cap and round shaft which i prefer. And then there’s the fancy tier with fluted shaft and polished steel cap. They apear to be a B mine. I use it mostly for marking or a quick note.
