If you run a regression in excel, i think if you enter bitcoin monthly returns as dependent variable and monthly returns for s&p as independent variable. You’ll see that the coefficient being beta is very much linked to stock market. higher β means higher returns when market swings up or more systematic risk exposure when swings down.
